Anime Legacy Simulator Mutations: All 10 and How to Roll for One

All 10 Anime Legacy Simulator mutations with their effects, plus how to summon mutated fighters during Toxic Fog and Meteor Shower weather windows.

Fighters in Anime Legacy Simulator can roll with any of ten mutations: Earth, Wind, Poison, Fire, Ice, Physical, Water, Lightning, Light, and Dark. A mutation is a passive combat trait that changes a fighter's appearance and adds a battle effect, such as a stat multiplier, a status ailment, or area-of-effect damage. Any rarity can come out mutated — Common, Mythical, Shiny, and Secret fighters alike.

Rolling for one is all about timing. Mutations are tied directly to the in-game Weather system: they only drop from summons made during special weather events, and never during neutral weather such as Clear or Cloudy.

All 10 mutations and their effects

The effect values below are community-tested figures reported by the game's mutations guide, not official constants. Proc-based mutations (Poison, Fire, Physical, Water, Lightning) only fire when their trigger happens, Ice counts consecutive hits, and Light's buff comes and goes.

MutationWhat it doesCondition or drawback
EarthSubstantially increases attack and ultimate damage — tested at 2x damage per hitReduces attack speed
WindIncreases movement and attack speed, charges the ultimate fasterNone
PoisonChance on hit to inflict poison damage over time (~5 ticks at ~20% of the triggering hit)Requires a hit to proc
FireChance on hit to burn for damage over time (~5 ticks at ~15% of the triggering hit)Requires a hit to proc
IceSlows enemies and detonates an explosive 2.5x hit after 7 consecutive hitsNeeds 7 consecutive hits
PhysicalAdds a critical-strike chance (estimated 5%–10%) that deals 5x base damageLow crit chance
WaterChance to double-strike for 2x damageRequires a hit to proc
LightningChance to chain electric damage to nearby enemies in rangeNeeds enemies within range
LightPeriodically triggers an aura (estimated 10%–20% activation) granting a temporary speed and attack buffBuff is temporary
DarkGreatly increases attack speed by temporarily swapping damage for speedLowers hit damage while active

How to recognize a mutated fighter

Every mutation changes the fighter's visual appearance, so a mutated pull is easy to confirm at a glance. A few documented markers: Earth fighters carry a rocky brown aura, Physical fighters show a boxing glove visual, Light randomly surrounds the fighter with a yellow glowing aura while its buff is active, and Water produces a splash effect when its double-strike procs.

How to roll for a mutation during the right weather

  1. Watch the weather status bar. It sits on the right side of the screen and lists the active weather pattern, the time remaining, and whether a mutation is currently available. Our weather guide covers the rotating weather patterns in detail.
  2. Wait for a mutation window. Neutral weather such as Clear or Cloudy grants general buffs like +10% summon luck, but the mutation drop chance is 0% — rolls made during those patterns cannot come out mutated. Special events open the real chances: Toxic Fog gives any rolled unit a 5% chance to drop with the Poison mutation, while Meteor Showers add small mutation chances of their own (no specific rate is documented). While it lasts, a Meteor Shower also raises server-wide damage by 25%.
  3. Roll from the Stars or Gacha banners while the event timer runs. Weather events usually last 5–10 minutes, so keep summon resources ready beforehand — active codes are an easy way to top up. The summoning guide explains the banners themselves.
  4. Remember any rarity qualifies. Every unit summoned during the event has a chance to inherit the active mutation, whether it rolls as a Common, Mythical, Shiny, or Secret fighter.

Which mutations stand out

If you're judging pulls, community testing highlights two. Physical has the highest single-hit multiplier: a critical strike deals 5x base damage, though its estimated 5%–10% crit chance means it won't fire often. Earth is the consistent option — it doubles base and ultimate damage on every hit. One player test with an Earth-mutated unit saw 544 base damage jump to 1,089, including ultimates, at the cost of a noticeable attack-speed reduction — burst damage rather than rapid hits.

How mutations are actually obtained

Star summons during matching weather windows are the only gameplay-tested way to get a mutation. Community discussions about adding a mutation onto a fighter you already own exist, but no such method has been confirmed by testing — so if you want a mutated fighter, plan to summon while a Toxic Fog, Meteor Shower, or similar event is live.
