How to Reroll Passives in Anime Legacy Simulator: Station Location, Trait Shards, and Overwrites

Reroll a fighter's passive in Anime Legacy Simulator: the lobby Trait Reroll station, the trait shards to bring, and what happens to the current trait.

Rerolling a fighter's passive in Anime Legacy Simulator happens at the Trait Reroll station in the central lobby — an NPC near the main spawn area. You pay for each roll with trait shards, which you farm mainly from dungeons and trials, and confirming a new trait permanently overwrites whatever the fighter currently holds. If the fighter already has a trait, the game now asks you to confirm the replacement before it goes through.

Where the reroll station is

The Trait Reroll NPC stands in the central lobby near the main spawn area. Gameplay recordings show players using the station in the hall area near the dungeon and trial entrances, and leveling guides also point players to the Trait Reroll NPC in the lobby or Slayer Village. The dungeon and trial entrances share that hall, so a farming run keeps you close to the reroll machine.

Bring trait shards

Passives are rolled on individual fighters using trait shards. Your main sources:

  • Dungeon rooms — chest rooms reportedly drop bulk shard fragments; one guide cites 15–25 fragments per chest.
  • Trial waves — trial footage shows drops labeled "Trait fragment".
  • Secret chest chambers found while exploring.

Naming differs by source: the passives guide says trait shards, trial footage shows drops labeled "Trait fragment", and one dungeon rundown calls them "passive reroll stones". Players who keep up with dungeons and trials describe reroll items as not hard to find; skip those modes and you won't have the resources to reroll.

How to reroll a passive, step by step

  1. Stock up on trait shards — one guide's farming route runs Dungeon mode up to Door 50 plus Trial waves.
  2. At the station, select the specific fighter from your inventory you want to modify.
  3. Check the green boxes next to the passives you are targeting — for example Blazing, Mercenary, Tiny, or Leprechaun. Open View chances if you want to see the roll chances first.
  4. Optional: click the eye icon to disable the roll animation — the guide suggests it for rolls spanning hundreds of fragments.
  5. Press Auto-Roll. The game halts automatically the moment one of your pre-selected targets comes up; you can also stop a roll manually.

Decide which passives are worth targeting before you spend shards — the passives tier list compares the documented traits.

What happens to the fighter's current trait

Every character fighter has a single passive trait slot. When you roll a new trait and confirm it, the previous passive is permanently overwritten — a fighter cannot hold two passives, and the guide warns against accidentally overwriting a rare roll. If the fighter already has a trait, a prompt now asks whether you want to replace it; before that update, you had to manually turn the existing trait off before spinning again.

Weapons are a separate system: they can hold multiple Breathing Style passives at once, as covered in the weapons guide.

A sensible reroll order: EXP trait first, combat trait at cap

Guides recommend this pattern for a newly obtained fighter: reroll for an EXP trait — the Genius tiers or the rainbow Prodigy — before feeding it, keep that trait while leveling to the level 35 cap, then reroll it into combat traits such as Mercenary, Giant, Tank, or Blessing once leveling is done. Rolling an EXP trait temporarily cuts the total food cost, and creators describe reroll items as not hard to find. The fighter leveling guide covers the feeding side, and how to level up fast has more ways to speed up the grind.
